Taper Bush Installation & Removal Guide
Taper-bushing drawings show separate tightening and removal-hole functions. Clean the shaft and mating bore, confirm the keyway, place the bushing in the correct orientation and tighten the listed fasteners evenly. For removal, use the designated removal holes rather than levering against adjacent equipment.
| Stage | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Before installation | Clean shaft, bore and key surfaces; remove burrs and corrosion. |
| Fit check | Confirm bushing family, model, bore and keyway before tightening. |
| Tightening | Use the correct tightening holes and fasteners; tighten evenly in stages. |
| Alignment | Check the mounted hub/sheave/sprocket position before operation. |
| Removal | Transfer fasteners to the designated removal holes where the design provides them, then tighten evenly to release the taper. |

Do not publish or apply a torque value unless it is confirmed for the exact ordered bushing and fastener configuration.
